Rome if you want to

If you haven't been following me on Instagram (@dewdesign) then maybe you didn't know I was in Rome recently. It was an amazing trip, even with the extreme heat that is hitting Europe right now. As we walked the sampietrini (the actually name of the uneven black cobbles) streets, trying not to get run over by the random car or scooter, you can't help but soak in the history of Roman life. Yes we did the typical tourist locations: the Colosseum, the Vatican Museum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, and threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain. Wandering through different neighborhoods; Prati, Monti, and my favorite Trastevere; having a cappuccino, a glass of wine or the infamous Aperol Spritz.

We even hopped on a train and went north to the town of Orvieto, situated on the flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff. With large defensive walls the city is know for the wine made in the region, the Duomo, the Pozzo di S. Patrizio well, and labyrinth of tunnels and caves that run under the city and offered an escape route from the elevated city to the land below. I highly recommend if you are in Rome to take a trip to Orvieto.

Anyone home?

"Dominus ominous!" Blessings from the homeless guy on the corner in Rome. (or he is just catatonic?)

Feeling judged at the Vatican Museum.
